Work

I currently work in a wastewater treatment plant in San Marcos, TX. Yes, it is exactly what you think it means, and yes it is worse than you think as well. Yes we get THOSE days sometimes. I started off as a mechanic and still perform mechanic duties there, but I also work with our I&C equipment as I obviously am pretty decent with a computer and nobody else that I work with is as comfortable with one. There is a lot of electrical work that is done when working with PLCs and just ICS troubleshooting, but I enjoy it as I feel like I get to use my brain at work for once instead of just turning wrenches.
Upon graduating I hope to remain in the company I am currently with as they do work on a global scale. I work for a company called Jacobs Engineering and when I first applied to work there, I had no idea how big they actually were. We have teams in Ireland, Dubai, Poland, you name it. They have many jobs here and as a matter of fact I began networking within my own company and I might end up beginning my career before I even graduate. There is a team that does the security of the networks at other projects within the comapany and they want to interview me very soon, mainly because of the work I have done with ICS equipment, but also because they know I am very interested in cybersecurity in general.
I would really like to get into pentesting, so I believe this oppurtunity will get me a foot in the door with the right people.
